CASHIERS

The Cashier is responsible to operate cash register, properly records and processes the customers purchases and to ensure that payment is also processed and received correctly. The Cashier is also responsible to provide quality service to every customer by being pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable of procedures and store products.

COOK

Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, or other dishes in an Okazuya style delicatessen. May order supplies, keep records and accounts, assist in pricing items on menu, or planning menu.

PREP COOKS/SERVERS

Assists Cooks with preparing hot and cold foods, as well as preparing simple items independently (without the direction of a Cook). Throughout a shift, also serve, assemble bento, restock, prep, clean and do other related tasks that are deemed necessary by management.

SUSHI CLERKS

Prepares primarily grab and go sushi for the stores and may also prepare special ordered sushi platters. Uses various fish-slicing and sushi-rolling techniques to prepare a variety of quality sushi dishes ensuring our customers have access to fresh, delicious, and visually appealing sushi products.

FISH CUTTERS

Responsible for preparing and cutting various types of fish to meet customer requests and specifications. The Fish Cutter's knowledge of seafood and ability to handle knives and cutting equipment will be vital in ensuring the highest quality and freshness of our fish products.

SEAFOOD CLERKS

Wraps, stocks, mixes, prepares and displays seafood deli items, and services customers. Ensures that the cases and shelves are clean, stocked and well organized with product in its proper place so that the customers can find what they need quickly and easily.

PRODUCE CLERKS

Prepares, packs, trims, displays, restocks, rotates and pullout stock maintaining the quality and freshness of the products. Also receives and warehouses the merchandise and cleans decks and shelves. Ensures that the department is well organized with product in its proper place so that the customers can find what they need quickly and easily.

GENERAL CLERKS

Unloads, receives, warehouses incoming merchandise from all sources. Prices, stocks, rotates, and faces merchandise. Prepares and posts signs and labels to ensure proper pricing for the merchandise. Operates cash registers as necessary. Provides assistance with the ordering, documentation and inventory of the merchandise. Assists with the housekeeping, security and safety standards of the department.

SECTION LEADERS/LEADS

Under the immediate supervision of department and/or store management oversees and directs the work of the clerks in the Dept., which may include scheduling; assigning of tasks; communicating; on-the-job training (operational and product knowledge) and promoting safe work habits. Ensure that Dept. merchandise are properly stocked, signed, and displayed within the time allotted. Will be responsible for the general housekeeping of the assigned floor and related backroom areas. May be assigned other store related duties.

    Jury Duty Leave and Bereavement Leave.

  • PAID SICK LEAVE**

    Accrues at one day (8 hours) a month up to maximum of 40 days (320 hours) at any one time. Coordinates sick leave benefits with TDI and Workers Compensation.

  • LTD INSURANCE PLAN*

    Company sponsored eligibility & coverage determined by classification)

  • MERCHANDISE DISCOUNTS

    5% discount applied to purchases made in the Don Quijote (USA), Marukai Hawaii, Times Supermarkets, Shimas Market, Big Save and Fujioka Wine Stores.

*Enrollment in a Health Plan, Group Term Life and LTD are subject to a waiting period.
